Whatcha Crafting Wednesday

Omg...I totally forgot that today is Wednesday! I'm all messed up because of the holiday on Monday. Here I was thinking I had another day to get some crafting accomplished before I had to post. ;-) I don't have much to share this week, but I'm rather excited about the one project that I DID accomplish. Drum roll please.....

PRODUCE BAGS!!!! I know...doesn't take much to get me excited. But, as you may remember from one of my posts last month, plastic produce bags were really bothering me.

After looking at a bunch of different ideas, I kinda just wung it. I found this fabric that I had left over from making Ryleigh's angel Halloween costume a couple years back. It was light-weight, see-through, and seems durable enough. So, I just sewed them into rectangles, added a casing for a drawstring, and voila. I haven't really used them yet. I just tried this one out with some apples I already had at home. I think they'll work well. The largest of these bags only weighs 0.4oz. I have a couple different sizes here - determined by what I had available for fabric. lol...if these work well I'll definitely be buying some more of this fabric (if I can find it again) and making some more.

So, that's it for this week. I would have had one other project to share with you, but I ran out of staples. Maybe next week.... ;-)

Kids Crafts Thursday

I'm ashamed to admit that we have been so busy this week that we haven't done any kids crafts. But, I did want to share with you all the craft that I intended to do with the kids this week. I thought these would be super cute for the kids to bring to the 4th of July parade - Star Spangled Wavers! How fun! I'll have to put it on my list for next week I guess. This craft is on the Disney Family Fun website. You can find it here.

I hope you all have a fun, festive, and SAFE holiday weekend!
